Add pieces manually to your library
Manual entry is a quick way to add individual pieces or a group of pieces directly to your Sage Score library. You can enter pieces one at a time with Single entry or use Bulk entry to add several pieces at once.
Need a different way to build your library? See Adding pieces to your library for an overview of all available import and entry methods.
Add a single piece
Use Single entry when you want to add one piece with as much or as little detail as you have available. This is great for new pieces.
From the Add to your library window, select Single from the mode selector at the top.
Enter the primary details
Add the information you know about the piece. Title is required; the remaining fields can be completed as available.
Primary details include:
Title
Composer
Arranger
Publisher
Owner
Parent work
Voicing & Instrumentation
Composer, arranger, and Voicing & Instrumentation can each contain multiple values.
As you type, Sage may suggest names and values already used in your library or from Sage Score's database of common values. Selecting an existing suggestion helps keep information consistent across your library.
Add optional details
You can also add additional information such as:
Tags
Duration
Number of copies
Difficulty
Licensing
Rating
Learning objectives
Folder width
Language
Genre
Key or tonality
Meter
Whether the piece is digital only
Tags and learning objectives can contain multiple values.
You do not need to complete every field. Enter the information that is useful to you and available for the piece.
Save the piece
Select Save when you're finished.
After saving, Sage may add additional details to the piece based on the information you provided. Supplying accurate primary information such as the title, composer, arranger, publisher, and instrumentation helps Sage identify and enrich the piece more effectively.
Add multiple pieces with Bulk entry
Use Bulk entry when you have several pieces to catalog and only need to enter their primary information.
Select Bulk from the mode selector at the top of the Add to your library window.
Each row represents one new library piece. Enter:
Title
Composer
Arranger
Publisher
Voicing & Instrumentation
Title is required for each piece you want to save.
Composer, arranger, and Voicing & Instrumentation support multiple values, and Sage will suggest existing or common values as you type to help keep your library data consistent.
Add more rows
Continue entering pieces down the table. When you tab forward from the Voicing & Instrumentation field in the last available row, Sage will automatically add another row for you.
You can add as many pieces as you need before saving.
Save your pieces
When you're finished, select Save all rows to add the completed pieces to your library.
Bulk entry is designed for speed, so it focuses on the most important identifying information. You can open any piece from your library afterward to add more details.
Switch entry methods at any time
The mode selector at the top of the Add to your library window lets you move between Single, Bulk, Dictation, Import CSV, and Scan.
If you start adding pieces and realize another method would be faster, you can choose the entry method that best fits the library material you're working with.
